Our Mission

In order to reduce poverty in its community, a CAA works to better focus available local state, private and federal resources to assist low- income individuals and families to acquire useful skills and acknowledge, gain access to new opportunities and achieve economic self- sufficiency.
Davidson County Community Action, Inc. was established in October, 1965 under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. DCCA, Inc was designed to specifically for “Helping People. Changing Lives.” in collaboration and partnership with the community.

Our Goals

• To administer programs that seek out and identify low-income disadvantaged persons of Davidson County.
• To better organize a range of services related to the needs of the low-income that lead them to self-sufficiency.
• To assist the community in becoming more responsible to the needs and interests of the low-income by mobilizing available resources.
• To promote the social welfare of the low-income programs designed to lessen neighborhood tension and to assist in combating community deterioration.
